Summer Projects and Volunteer Opportunities

FOCUS On Schools

This is our annual school supply drive in which we collect school supplies and distribute them to children in our pantry neighborhoods, as well as to city schools. FOCUS Congregations and faith affiliates will be collecting school supplies through July, and supplies can be delivered to FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry (275 State St, Albany) during the month of August. We will also need volunteers August 31st through September 1st for packing supplies, and September 2nd through 4th to distribute supplies to pantry guests. Volunteers must be signed up ahead of time, and can sign up by email info@focuschurches.net or by phone (518) 443-0460.

Community Harvest Garden

FOCUS Churches and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church are collaborating this summer to feed the hungry and build community. The garden will be planted at 21 Hackett (St. Paul’s) and maintained by FOCUS and St. Paul volunteers – pantry guests are also invited. The food harvested from the garden will go to the FOCUS Interfaith Food Pantry to give pantry guests access to local, organically grown produce.
