Appeal: Feed Families Across Our Community

Dear Friend of FOCUS,

Every day, neighbors in our community have to choose between paying bills, handling surprise expenses, and making sure there is enough food at home.

Food Insecurity Can Affect Anyone

At the FOCUS Food Pantry, we see every day that anyone can struggle with food insecurity. Recently, volunteers Mary Seely and Peggy Mow talked about what they see each week.

"There are people who come here who clearly have seen better times," Peggy said. “Some are college students. Others have lost jobs or are struggling to keep up with rising costs. They come from many different backgrounds, but they all need help feeding themselves and their families.”

For Mary, the pantry means more than just giving out food. "So many of these people have had very difficult lives and haven't been treated with dignity and respect," she said. "I want to make a connection ... make them feel seen and valued."

Supporters like you make this welcoming and caring spirit possible.

The Need Is Real

Last year, the FOCUS Food Pantry gave out 159,606 meals to people in our community. Of those helped, 2,917 were children, making up about a third of those who depended on the pantry.

The need continues. When asked what the community would lose without the pantry, Mary answered, "I think it would be very devastating to the community." Peggy added, "I don't know where people in this area would go for their food."

How You Can Help

Your gift will provide real help to neighbors facing difficult circumstances. A gift of $40 can provide six days of meals for one person, including fresh produce and milk. A gift of $120 can provide a family of three with meals for six days from the pantry.

Every donation helps make sure families, children, seniors, and others in our community have healthy food when they need it most.

Please give today. With your support, FOCUS can keep providing food, dignity, and hope to neighbors going through hard times.

Thank you for your generosity and for being part of the FOCUS community.

With gratitude,

The FOCUS Team
