FOCUS Appeal: FOCUS Is Empowered by YOUR Support

Dear Friend of FOCUS,

Did you know that 40% of the FOCUS annual budget comes from community contributions? Behind that number are people like you who believe every neighbor deserves nourishment, dignity, and a place where they are welcomed and supported.

So far this year, FOCUS has provided more than 100,000 meals through the FOCUS Food Pantry and served more than 10,000 guests through our Breakfast Club. Participation in Breakfast Club alone has increased approximately 6% over 2025. As the need for our services grows, so does our reliance on this support.

Bridging the Gaps

Grants provide vital support for our programs, but cannot cover every expense involved in keeping FOCUS operating. Grants are also often designated for specific purposes and don’t allow for the flexibility to act when a new need arises.

Your contributions provide flexible funding for essential personnel costs, equipment repairs and replacement, staff training, and, most importantly, initiatives that meet emerging needs of our neighbors.

Ready to Respond

As needs within our community grow and change, FOCUS must be ready to respond, not only through our ongoing food programs, but through additional programs, timely assistance, and partnerships that allow us to reach our neighbors in new ways.

When Derrick Baxter, FOCUS Breakfast Club Coordinator saw an immediate need for additional meals during the summer, FOCUS was able to respond by starting Hot Dog Thursdays. Through the program, we served more than 1,000 meals this past summer.

Derrick shared how implementing Hot Dog Thursdays is a wonderful example of how donations from the community allowed for us to meet a genuine need for our neighbors quickly and creatively:

“Community donations gave us the flexibility to act quickly and provide food and connection through a community meal like Hot Dog Thursdays when our neighbors needed it most. As we enter the colder months, we have been able to adapt the program to better meet the seasonal needs of our guests, and will now be serving warm soup and grilled cheese, providing a comforting and nutritious meal throughout the winter season. ”

Be Part of the Community That Empowers FOCUS

When a neighbor turns to FOCUS, we want to be ready to welcome them, not only with food, but with compassion and the reassurance that their community cares.

Make your gift today at focuschurches.net/donate. Your contribution will help sustain the programs our neighbors rely on and ensure that FOCUS can continue responding with dignity, compassion, and care.

Thank you for your generosity and for being part of the FOCUS community.

With gratitude,

The FOCUS Team
