Greetings! I hope that your day is elevated by the prayers you have laid before God. We've heard that "prayer changes things," but consider that prayer changes your character. One author said when there is a change in our character or a change in our soul, real change occurs. When we make prayer a devoted and committed time to connect and improve in our relationship with God, our Source, the resources we need for the day will fall afresh on us throughout the day.
Prayer is a call for help, a call to change our spirit, change our soul, change our thoughts, and change our speech. This prayer is where true change begins, as God prepares the internal transformation of our lives. And, prayer changes our environment ... how we perceive and receive information. I remember being upset with my husband for not helping me bring in the groceries, as he sat in his oversized comfortable recliner with remote in hand, while I struggled with unloading the car from the garage. Every time I came through the door with bags of groceries, he would be changing to another channel on the TV, and the anger and rage I felt towards him was taken out on the bags of groceries and cabinet doors. Man, I would fume that he was inconsiderate not to see that I needed help!
As I grew in my relationship with God, I learned that "asking" for help was not a sign of weakness, but one of strength because I knew what I needed. The same goes for prayer ... Matt. 7:7 says to "ask and you shall receive." When I asked my husband for help, he obliged me and the anger, bitterness and resentment slowly slipped away in my prayers of forgiveness to God. Asking does not always mean getting our needs met, even with God, because He supplies all of our need according to His glorious riches. And, if our prayers are answered by silence from God, we have to accept His timely response with faith and patience.
On this WINS-day, walk in winning status knowing that each time we talk to God, we are heard, we are touched and we are changed for the better. And, remember, that God is with us wherever we GO! Now,, get GOing in prayers for yourself, intercessory prayer for others, and watch God change things!
