Greetings! As summer fades and fall leaps into existence here in the northeast, our direction in life shifts. We put away the BBQ grills, store away the lawn furniture and umbrellas, even change the type of flowers and shrubberies we plant. The supermarkets are harvesting different crops, department stores are cheaply pricing summer items, and all because there is a shift occurring, a new direction, a new season.
New seasons bring changes and change is not always easy for some of us. But, today, I want you to open your mind and heart to whatever change is coming your way. One way to do this is to set personal goals for yourself, goals that enrich the purpose and meaning you find in life. Identify something you want to change in your life in this new season and be purposeful about attaining the goal. Don't let other people's lives and problems interfere with the direction you desire. Remember, we can each travel in different directions, but it is key to recognize that we all must arrive at the same destination -- doing together what we cannot do alone!
So, on this WINS-day, run with patience and endurance to win the prize that is in Christ Jesus, for we only WIN when we don't compete, but seek to complete the race! It's not about how we run the race, it's about adjusting our direction to reach the destination because then ... we WIN!!!
